Today, June 16, a roundtable discussion was held in Bishkek on the topic “Labor Market and Employment in the Kyrgyz Republic,” within the framework of the project “Expanding Socio-Economic Opportunities for Vulnerable Groups in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan,” implemented by the FSDS.
The roundtable was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Kyrgyz Republic, independent experts, representatives from international organizations, and civil society organizations.
The aim of the event was to enhance the effectiveness of employment assistance efforts, identify challenges related to youth employment and rural youth adaptation to the labor market, and share best practices regarding employment issues.
During the event, three studies were presented on the following topics:
1️⃣ Labor Market Analysis in Kyrgyzstan, FSDS, LLC "Ishtе";
2️⃣ Informal Employment Among Youth in Kyrgyzstan, NGO “IRM”;
3️⃣ Employment Vulnerability, Income, and Subjective Well-being in Kyrgyzstan, Kamal Karymshakov and Burulcha Sulaymanova, independent experts.
Participants of the roundtable discussed pressing employment issues and developed practical recommendations to improve the methodology for conducting future research.
